San Luis de los franceses
The Church of San Luis de los Franceses is an outstanding example of 18th century Baroque architecture. It is in the historic centre. It was designed by the architect D. Leonardo de Figueroa and built between 1699 and 1730 by order of the Company of Jesus. After the expulsion of the Jesuits from Spain in 1835, it was put to different uses and was finally deconsecrated. It now belongs to the Seville Provincial Council.
Hospital de los Venerables sacerdotes (Hospital of the Venerable Priests)
The Hospital de los Venerables Sacerdotes, popularly known as the Hospital de los Venerables, is a 17th century Baroque building that served as a residence for priests, and is currently the headquarters of the Focus Foundation, which houses the so-called Centro Velázquez, dedicated to the famous painter Diego Velázquez. It is in the Plaza de los Venerables, in the centre of the Santa Cruz district and very close to the Murillo gardens, the Cathedral and the Real Alcázar.
Charity Hospital
The Hospital de la Santa Caridad is a 17th century building, built in 1663, belonging to the Sevillian Baroque style, the headquarters of the charitable institution of the philanthropist Miguel Mañara. Miguel Mañara. This hospital housed many poor and sick people. It is in the Arenal district, in the old suburb of La Carretería, outside the walls of historic Seville, bordering the rear of the building on the line along which the city wall enclosed the city.
